Aston Martin Showroom, Workshop, and Facilities Installation

Project Scope:

‍MW Electrical Contracting was engaged for a complete electrical installation at Aston Martin’s new showroom, workshop, offices, and valet bay in Birmingham. The project covered all power, lighting systems, external infrastructure, HVAC supplies, and security systems supplies to ensure a seamless, high-performance facility aligned with Aston Martin's luxury standards.

Key Components Delivered:

• Showroom:
  • Installation of floor boxes and smart lighting systems for optimal control and energy efficiency.
  • Hanging feature lights and specialised display lighting to showcase Aston Martin’s vehicles in the best possible light.
• Workshop:
  • Power supplies installed for car ramps, exhaust extraction systems, fire shutters, workbench areas, and roller shutters, ensuring functionality and safety.
• Valet Bay:
  • Installation of surface-mounted metal conduit for power and lighting systems.
• External Power and Lighting:
  • Installation of external sockets, gate supplies, six roof-mounted lighting columns for the car park, 15 ground-level lighting columns, six building-mounted signage lighting points, and two totem sign supplies for enhanced visibility.
• HVAC Supplies:
  • Installed containment for HVAC systems in the plant room, including supplies for air conditioning, boost boxes, and condensers.
• Security Systems:
  • Installed containment for CCTV and intruder alarm systems. The CCTV system was first fixed by MW Electrical Contracting, while sub-contractors completed the commissioning.

Aston Martin required a premium installation to support their luxury brand, with a particular emphasis on ensuring functionality, safety, and a high-end finish throughout the facility. This complex project involved coordinating multiple sub-contractors and managing tight timelines to ensure the facility was fully operational for its grand opening.

MW Electrical Contracting provided a bespoke solution for this large-scale project, managing every aspect from power and lighting and security. With 2,709 man-hours dedicated to the project, our team worked efficiently to ensure the installation met Aston Martin’s high standards and adhered to the project timeline.

In the showroom, we installed high-end lighting systems to highlight the brand’s luxury vehicles, combining aesthetic design with energy efficiency. In the workshop, we ensured that all essential equipment, such as car ramps and exhaust systems, were fully powered and safe to use. The valet bay and other functional areas were equipped with robust electrical systems, ensuring seamless operation.

The external power and lighting installation included multiple lighting columns and illuminated signage, ensuring that the Aston Martin brand was visible both day and night.

By coordinating effectively with sub-contractors for the fire alarm, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems, we ensured that all systems were installed and commissioned seamlessly. Our careful planning and execution allowed the project to be completed on time and to Aston Martin’s exacting standards.
